Week in our Life, Day FOUR.















  • Up at 6:00 to finish reading Keri's dissertation proposal, in preparation for 9:00 am committee phone conference. Put sweater on because it's chilly.
  • Wake kids at 6:45 am. Baths and showers.

  • Help kids get dressed.
  • Put Hayden on the bus at 7:45. He hates missing the bus and doesn't want us to bring him.

  • Stand at the busstop with umbrella....a cold rainy morning.

  • Finished getting myself and Kennedy ready. Combed hair and tied bandana in it.

  • Dropped Kennedy off at school. Snap photo of Barb (principal) greeting kid with her Duckie umbrella.

  • Drive to campus. Watch the van go over the 10,000 mile mark.
  • Meet Keri at my office.
  • One-hour dissertation review meeting/conference call. Talk about research methodology, statistical analysis and her theoretical frame.

  • 10:00 class--talk about identity development of the adolescent.

  • 11:25 class--administer Stats/Research exam #1. Catch up on emails and Facebook.
  • 12:45--grab apple and granola for lunch. I need a Diet Coke!

  • 1:00--administer 2nd section Stats/Research exam. One of my student read a study saying that chewing gum improved exam results by 25%; he started handing out gum right before the exam!

  • 2:30-4:00 Learning Center meetings; disability accommodation reviews.

  • 4:00--Leave for home; grab tacos on the way home for dinner.

  • 5:00--eat tacos with the kids; catch up on their day.

  • 5:30--a bit of TV.

  • 6:00--Planning to make cookie bars with the kids; out of butter so will have to wait until tomorrow afternoon.
  • Hayden falls asleep on Ruby's dog bed. One tuckered little kindergarten boy (and dog).

  • Kennedy playing Barbie's/watching Disney channel.

  • Homework time for Kennedy; due on Fridays. Working on counting complex coin combinations and Venn diagrams. Kennedy: "I hate it when you ask questions about school. It disturbs me. (OK THEN.)

  • Read a bit of the newspaper......Obama visits GR, new Bailout plan. Blah-blah-blah.
  • Bedtime routine same as yesterday and every day before that.
  • Read and start Beth Moore Bible study.
